Downtown
Tours start at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, located at 706 Caroline Street in old town.
The tour of old town Fredericksburg is our flagship tour--the one that started it all. Enjoy an entertaining and informative trip aboard the trolley. Learn about the many famous and interesting people who have been here, including those who called Fredericksburg home. Hear about events that have taken place since the city was established in 1728.
During his formative years, George Washington lived just across the Rappahannock River, a "stone's throw" from the city where he attended school and church. George's mother, sister, and brother had homes in Fredericksburg, which are open to the public for tours.
African American
The African-American tour is offered only to groups. Many families holding reunions in Fredericksburg reserve one or two trolleys for the tour. School groups also choose this option when studying the contributions that African-Americans made and continue to make to the development of our area.
As the trolley takes you along city streets, you will hear about the earliest arrivals in 1619, who were indentured servants. Then the production of tobacco and other cash crops led to the rise of the slave trade. Many notable enslaved workers as well as free blacks made an impact during those early years.
Buildings of note include Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), as well as Shiloh Baptist Church (New Site). You will see three buildings on Caroline Street where the tides of civil injustice began to turn. Former businesses in those three buildings had lunch counters that served only white people. That changed in the summer of 1960 when local Civil Rights volunteers began conducting peaceful sit-ins at the lunch counters.

We’ll do the driving while you enjoy the festive light displays and fill the bus with joyous sounds of Christmas.

Wine Tour
Come along on the trolley for a leisurely ride through the Spotsylvania countryside. Learn some of the history of the county while also enjoying tastings at three wineries.
- Eden Try, a private estate, is an award-winning wedding and event venue and the newest of Spotsylvania's wineries.
- Lake Anna Winery proudly offers award-winning affordable wines from estate-grown grapes in a family friendly and fun atmosphere.
- Mattaponi Winery offers International and National award-winning wines from coast to coast. This small farm winery has added a beautiful tasting room known as the “Tasting Post” for your relaxation and enjoyment.
Your ticket price includes the cost of the three wine tastings, as well as a box lunch and bottled water. Some of the wineries also offer snacks for sale. If you want something more substantial, feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the stops.
You must be at least 21 years old to take the wine tour. If you appear to be less than 30, the wineries may ask to see your picture I.D.
